To honor some of our most tenacious students, our Student Recognition Retention Action Team has started a “Student of the Week” award. Faculty members nominate students based on their tenacity, and the team selects one per week.

"Congratulations to Angie Bryson, who's been named our "Student of the Week!"

Name: Angie Bryson
Program: Health Information Technology
Graduation: May 2016

Q1) What motivates you to continue and excel at SCC in spite of circumstances you may face?
A1) My main motivators are my children and my faith. I want to be a good role model for my girls. I stress the importance of a good education to them almost daily. I want them to see that with faith, hard work, and determination, any goal can be reached.

Q2) What advice would you give to future students who might face similar situations?
A2) We can overcome any obstacle if we just put our minds to it. NEVER say, "I can't" because you can if you want it badly enough. No matter how hard it gets, DON'T GIVE UP! We all have days when we want to give up, but take it one day at a time and have faith that tomorrow WILL be better.
