Faculty members nominate students based on their tenacity, and the team selects one per week.

What motivates you to continue and excel at SCC in spite of circumstances you may face?
I am largely self-motivated, but I could not it on my own. I have an amazing support system! My family and friends have always been there to push me to succeed, and here at SCC the faculty members and my peers are always willing to help me whenever I am struggling.
What advice would you give to future students who might face similar situations?
No matter what is going on in your life remember that true success only comes with self-motivation; however, that doesn't mean that you need to cope with everything on your own! Self-motivation is the ability to do what needs to be done, and sometimes asking for help is "what needs to be done." There are always people at SCC ready and willing to help you!
