We asked Judd a few questions about himself and what inspires him:

Who is one of your role models? How has that person helped with your educational journey?
The most important role model for me is my wife. She teaches me to never settle or be content with the status quo. Whenever I find myself overwhelmed with school or projects, she is there without fail to provide emotional support. Having known me better than anyone else, she was able to see my true potential and encouraged me to take on a new adventure and career. Even though I had doubts about going back to college, she helped me overcome my fear. She helped me realize that achieving my educational goals now will teach our future children the importance of hard work, sacrifice, dedication and the ability to chase your dreams at all costs.

What motivates you to excel at SCC in spite of difficult circumstances you may face?
My motivation stems from being able to find rewarding and memorable situations, currently in my program of study, as well as my future practice as a respiratory therapist. Seeing people in their darkest hour, only able to muster a smile because of my genuine concern for them, is a very rewarding feeling. It's a feeling that produces a drive to be your absolute best.

What advice would you give to other students who face tough challenges?
No matter what obstacles cross your path, try not to face them alone. Look for those that believe in you and reach out for their support. With the right amount of encouragement, we have the ability to crush all challenges that stand in the way of our passion, ambition and dreams. In the end, whether the challenge is great or small, you can overcome it. Just remember: A giant peanut will make a giant tub of peanut butter. It just takes more work to get it there.

Congratulations, Judd. We wish you great success at SCC and are proud to have you as a student.
