Internal Simulation Center Advisory Committee

The charge of the SCC’s Simulation Center Advisory Committee (SCAC) is:

  • To foster professional and interprofessional simulation learning education and opportunities for all departments of the Health Science division and the SCC region.
  • To provide “wise counsel” from and for the Simulation Center stakeholders on issues raised by the Health Science’s faculty and students, the Simulation Center director, or campus administration about issues of importance to the Simulation Center.
  • To provide direction and support for the Simulation Center’s annual strategic plan and continuing budget requests.
  • To encourage and support the exploration of new ideas, prioritize purchases, priorities, and strategic planning for the overall simulation learning for the division.
  • To monitor, review, comment, and report on priorities, SIMs, facilities, equipment, and activities.  This also includes documents, publications, and marketing items such as brochures, handbooks, policies, evaluation instruments, and procedures.
  • To develop an understanding of the current status of healthcare simulation programs and centers as well as industry trends in simulation learning.
  • To identify priorities for meeting the standards for national accreditation with the Society of Simulation in Healthcare (SSiH) in 4 years.
  • To develop a “priority of use” for Simulation Center to resolve conflicts between competing needs within the division.

 

The internal members of the SCAC will consist of the employees in the Health Sciences departments that use the resources of the Simulation Center.  Department heads are asked to recommend one person from their department to serve a two-year term.  This appointment can be renewed biannually.
