All food and supplies will be provided by PARI.

The workshop will run from noon-5 p.m. on Wednesday through Friday and from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday. All sessions will be held in Room 253 of the Balsam Center.

PARI, a long-time partner of Southwestern Community College through the SMSC, has brought nearly a decade of STEM content to Western North Carolina. The 3D Planets Program was first implemented in 2015 and is a multi-day workshop that provides exciting hands-on opportunities for middle school students.

Through the 3D Planets Workshop, participants will learn about planetary surfaces and spacecraft that have ventured to other planets. Other topics include 3D imaging, modeling, how to transform data into a real object, science communication skills and more.

For more information, parents of interested middle schoolers should check out PARI’s 3D Planets Workshop page or contact Randi Neff at r_neff@SouthwesternCC.edu. Visit 3D Planets Workshop Registration to sign up.
