Employers from Wildwater attended last year’s Job Fair at SCC.

Southwestern Community College’s career center will host two job fairs in March at the Jackson Campus.

The first job fair is from 1-4 p.m. on Monday March 7, and is directed to those interested in working in the hospitality and tourism field. Employers are looking to fill full-time, part-time and seasonal positions.

The second job fair is from 9 a.m.-noon on Thursday March 31, and will have a more diverse group of industries looking for potential employees. The employers are looking to fill full-time, part-time, seasonal, and internship positions. In addition to applying for real jobs, students can use this opportunity to learn about specific employers, network, and gain information about careers.

“These events offer a chance for employers to educate Southwestern's students and alumni, and members of the local community, about their respective organizations, personnel needs, and the career paths they offer,” said Michael Despeaux, director of the career center at SCC. “It is also a great way for them to promote their businesses and to learn more about the college.”

A diverse group of employer industries have already registered including: health care, hospitality, human services, tourism, education, business, computer technology, engineering, surveying, law enforcement, culinary and cosmetology, restaurant and hotel management and more.

Participants should dress professionally and bring copies of their resumes. Both events are free and open for employers, students, alumni and any member of the community.
