Our student of the week is: Chad Afriat! Chad is studying Marketing and Accounting and is set to graduate in May 2021.
"I am 36 with 5 kids and a full-time job. My motivation is that I must attribute to my family and my wife. I am trying to become a senior manager/VP or General manager in the casino industry. I have been working with casinos for the past 15 years, and I want to move up. I have to say that I was turned down this year for a management position and that is what lead me back to school. I don’t want my education to ever be a reason for me not getting a position again."
"I don’t see many students in my position, but I would say stay in school and enjoy yourself. If I can manage work and my family life, bills, kids in sports and still get the grade I am achieving, there is always a way to succeed. Sometimes younger students don’t understand how good they really do have it to just attend school and have holidays and weekends off. Some of us don’t have that luxury. I hope every student will see all of the resources that SCC provides and take advantage.
