What is Work-Based Learning?

As the name implies, Work-Based Learning (WBL) is education based upon a work-related arrangement by Southwestern Community College and approved work sites. The goal is to provide practical working/learning experiences for SCC students, and give the student roots in our tri-county area.

The WBL Program provides:

  • Academic credit to satisfy graduation requirements
  • Flexibility to work with the schedule of both students and work sites
  • Students around 10-20 working hours per week, gaining hands-on experience while also taking on-campus classes.

Southwestern Community College is proud of our program and has a proven track record of WBL Successes.
