Description

Educational videos effectively convey much more information to a more diverse audience of learners than a printed handout, but require planning, execution, polish, and posting to a reliable platform—far more than selfies posted to social media. In this second bootcamp addressing video, teachers will create and polish video using sophisticated software that will teach and assess in their subject area. Working in a supportive group atmosphere, participants will practice the techniques of planning, producing, and sharing video that can communicate and evaluate in a way that static text and images cannot. Note: Video production is time-consuming and computer intensive. Participants will need a 64-bit multimedia computer to support the video editing software (on Windows 7 or MacOS10 or newer).

Full-time and part-time faculty from all of the community colleges in North Carolina may apply. Participants should plan to spend 5-7 hours per week on course assignments. Course completers receive a certificate identifying number of contact hours attained and a $100 stipend.
